Members of the congregation of Long Street Methodist church will be singing Christmas hymns and carols outside the church garden on Long Street on Saturday 17 December, between 10.30 and noon.
This is part of the church's plans to open up the church and garden, and there will be a series of events on Saturdays from springtime onwards
Shoppers and passers-by will be invited to listen, or join in, and also to enjoy a cup of coffee and a mince pie.
Refreshments are served every Saturday morning at Long Street, proceeds going to the Methodist Relief and Development Fund for overseas aid. The proceeds of any donations for the carol singing will be earmarked for the Biblelands charity, which supports the vulnerable and disadvantaged in that part of the middle east
The Friends of Long Street Methodist are currently planning a series of events for Saturday's aimed at opening up our beautiful Church and Gardens to the people of Middleton. There will be a mix of entertainment, leisure and learning. Check back for more information in the new year
